Meghan Lamarca

Dance Teacher

Meghan began dancing at the age of 4 locally at Expressions Dance Studio. There she learned the basics in ballet, tap, jazz, and tumbling while also training professionally for pageants and modeling. Meghan also spent time training in tumbling at Gymnastics Academy of Rockford throughout her childhood. 

During high school, Meghan danced competitively for Guilford High School’s Varsity dance team while also coaching 3 local teams in dance, cheer and tumbling. Following high school, she went on to study the foundations of ballet and modern at the college level through Northern Illinois University. During this time, she continued her own training in ballet, lyrical/contemporary, jazz, tap and hip-hop with Forest Hills Dance Company in Loves Park, IL. Meghan competed with Forest Hills Dance Company for 4 years while also working as an assistant teacher for children at both the recreational and competitive level. Meghan joined the faculty at Dance FX in Rockton, IL in 2012 and worked as the assistant director until 2018 when they integrated in to Turning Pointe Dance Company at Kids Spot in Roscoe, IL. 

Meghan founded and directs “Ripple FX” a dance charity event that has brought dancers together to perform and raise over $33,000 for local and national charities over the past 6 years. Meghan has worked for Turning Pointe Dance Company teaching children from age 18 months to 18 years in all styles of dance. Additionally, she has set choreography and worked in administration with Southwest Synergy Dance in Tinley Park, IL for 6 years. Meghan became Acrobatic Arts Certified in 2018 and continues to take classes, conventions, and attend conferences as much as she can. Meghan is working on her Masters in Occupational Therapy with Lewis University and enjoys incorporating her knowledge of anatomy, body mechanics, child development, and the sensory system into classes for children of all ages.
