Danner Self

Dance Teacher

Danner Self hails from Roscoe, Illinois. Danner’s passion and love for dance began at age three when she attended her first dance class with Kim Dailey. She started dancing competitively at age five and teaching and choreographing at age fourteen. It was then she realized her true passion resonated in performance and entertainment. Throughout her childhood, Danner danced competitively with Turning Pointe Dance Company. 


In high school, she was on the Hononegah Indianettes Dance Team and was awarded MVP her senior year. Danner continued her training in college, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. There she trained under industry professionals, such as, Endalyn Taylor, Tere O’Connor, Kirstie Simson, Abby Zbikowski, and Sara Hook, as well as being a member of the University of Illinois Illinettes Dance Team. Throughout college Danner studied many disciplines, not limited to modern, ballet, improvisation, composition, African/Umfundalai, jazz, tap, hip-hop, and somatics. While at UIUC, Danner performed in modern stage works by Leah Wilks, Rachel Rizzuto, and Elliot Emadian. In addition to performing, she also had the opportunity to teach tap at the collegiate level as part of her teaching curriculum. 


Danner’s love for choreography and teaching has brought her to Prestige, and she can’t wait to share her joy for dance with everyone!
